Symbols
Manage the trading symbols used in your imports.
The Symbols tab lists traded instruments (e.g.: EURUSD, ES, NQ). Symbols are created automatically on import, but you can manage them manually.
Create a symbol
Open the form
Click "Add symbol".
Fill in the fields
- Symbol: The instrument code (e.g.:
EURUSD) - Decimals: Number of digits after the decimal point for price display (e.g.:
5for 1.12345) - Aliases: Other names for the same instrument (to link different notations)
- Notes: Free information (optional)
Save
The symbol appears in the list with the Active status.
Polygon alias (spgn)
For symbols that don't map automatically to Polygon, add a custom field named spgn in the symbol metadata. The value is the Polygon ticker to use for the trade chart.
Optional prefixes force the instrument type used to call the Polygon API:
| Prefix | Instrument type | Example |
|---|---|---|
ft: | Future | ft:ES |
fx: | Forex | fx:EURUSD |
cr: | Crypto | cr:BTCUSD |
st: | Stock | st:AAPL |
Without a prefix, the instrument type defined on the trade is used. Use this when a symbol is named differently in your broker and on Polygon.
Activate / deactivate a symbol
Each symbol can be active or inactive:
- Deactivate: the symbol remains in the database but is no longer offered in new manual trades
- Activate: reactivates a previously deactivated symbol
The status is indicated by a badge (Active / Inactive) in the list.
Filters and pagination
- Advanced filters: filter by symbol, aliases, or status (active/inactive)
- Pagination: the list is paginated to remain readable even with many symbols
